OUGS Field Trip to Ashford in the Water and Monsal Head, 20 October 2002

It was a very frosty start to the morning - This was the view we enjoyed when eating our packed lunch
The mist outlines the valleys clearly View from Monsal head
Monsal limestone on the walk from Ashford in the Water to Monsal Head Hobs House - coral band
More corals in the limestone Having climbed down to the valley, this is the weir
Wash-hole through the limestone By the time we got back to Ashford, the rain had started

Thank you to the East Midlands branch of OUGS, and to Harry Briggs for his informative and interesting tour!
